IFCAお楽しみイベント
クリスマス・パーティ
As we entered the large meeting room at IFCA we were warmly greeted by a couple of my English students. Although we did not know quite what to expect, my husband, my son and I had the privilege of attending our first Christmas party at IFCA and we were looking forward to what was in store for the evening.
I enjoyed being able to introduce my husband to the students in my class and we also enjoyed meeting several new people who were either IFCA students or fellow English instructors.
The evening’s program opened with the new IFCA teachers and students introducing themselves. The stories of why the students wanted to learn English were quite varied and very interesting. All the students were very impressive with their ability to speak English so well in front of such a large group. Then several different students entertained us with dance and music. It was especially enjoyable for us to watch our son join the others in playing ukulele. He thoroughly enjoys his ukulele class and was really looking forward to playing with the group at the party.
Then at the party we played a couple of games which were quite lively, were extremely effective in helping us to meet everyone and were just plain enjoyable! The gift exchange was also very fun as we passed the gifts around in anticipation of what we would receive. The evening ended in the reading of the story of the first Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ, from the Bible, the singing of Silent Night by candle light and warm wishes of a merry Christmas to all of our new friends. Our first IFCA Christmas party was certainly one of the experiences that we have had in Japan that we hope we will never forget and we hope we will be able to enjoy the opportunity again!

語ろう会
IFCAから東日本大震災被災地への継続寄付金支援の報告会をしました。星野節子さん（水曜午後クラス）の長女、星野恭子さん（小児科医）に寄付金を託しているので彼女からの写真付きの報告書を拝見しました。釜石教育委員会を通じてIFCAからの義援金が有効に使途されている状況も伺いました。
水餃子講習会
10月20日（土）夕方から香港出身の遅さんが得意の“水餃子の講習会”をして下さいました。受講人数は15人までと限定され、餃子の皮作りから丁寧に教えて下さいました。料理が出来上がった頃に試食だけの参加者が15名集まり、長いテーブルを準備して、総勢30名での賑やかな夕食会になりました。
講師へのお礼は東北被災地へ寄付するよう遅さんから指示されました。

サマーブレイク・パーティ
会員、その家族友人たちそして外国からの留学生が集まってバーベキューを囲み、毎年夏休みに入る直前の土曜の夕べを過ごします。今回は特別企画として土曜クラスの遅さんによるイタリアオペラのホームコンサートも開かれた。彼のうっとりとするバリトンの声に魅せられ、参加者は拍手喝采。恒例のウクレレとコカリナのハワイアン演奏も披露された。
