Pearls are the gems traditionally featured in the celebration of a 30th anniversary, and they are treasured in Japan and throughout the world for their beauty and luster and value. The colorful beauty of pearls has been celebrated in Japan's vast legacy of poetry. Perhaps the most important anniversary for any institution or person or field of endeavor is the 30th. It represents three decades of tireless effort, growth, maturity, and remarkable achievement - with unfailing clarity of objectives. For IFCA's founder and faculty and students, 2004 is a time for celebration and congratulation. But in this troubled world, 2004 is also a challenging time for renewed dedication to international amity and cultural appreciation.
